Group Volunteer Opportunities
📦 1. Dresser Assembly Challenge
- Location: On-site at Project Home Again OR hosted at your office/location
- Best For: Great team-building for medium to large groups (takes 2 to 3 hours).
Dressers are one of our most requested items, and we always need help assembling brand-new dresser kits. We can host your team at our facility or bring all the materials and tools straight to your office or meeting space!
Want to add a little friendly competition? Many teams turn this into an assembly race or timed challenge between departments, or simply work collaboratively at their own pace.
🛠️ 2. Furniture Repair & Paint
- Location: On-site at Project Home Again
- Best For: Groups who like hands-on, tangible, and creative work.
Many donated pieces of furniture just need a little extra love before they’re ready for a new home. Your group will spend the session sanding, making light repairs, and painting or touching up furniture. It’s a wonderfully rewarding project where you can see the direct result of your hard work.
🧺 3. Donation Sorting & Organization
- Location: On-site at Project Home Again
- Best For: Smaller groups seeking a focused, behind-the-scenes service project.
Help us organize the everyday essentials that make a house feel like a home. Your group will work together sorting through newly donated items, inspecting and folding blankets, washing dishes, and getting goods organized on our warehouse shelves so they’re ready for distribution.
📦 4. Host a Donation Drive
- Location: Flexible / Your office, facility, or community center
- Best For: Remote teams, larger organizations, or as a prep project before a hands-on volunteer day.
If you’re looking for an impactful opportunity without a set time commitment, hosting a drive is an easy, highly effective way to help. We’ll provide you with a list of our most needed items (like linens, kitchen essentials, or bath items).
Tip: Many groups host a drive leading up to their in-person volunteer day so they can bring their collected donations with them!
Mix & Match Your Experience
Can’t decide on just one? We love creating custom experiences for our partners! We can combine a donation drive with a dresser assembly event, or split a larger team between furniture painting and donation sorting.
